Charles Hood was a philanthropist and an avid walking stick collector who assembled an extraordinary collection in the early 2000’s. His large collection features some of the finest pieces from many cane categories. He had a passion for fine decorative canes, exquisite nautical canes, important 17th and 18th Century canes, unique folk art canes and canes with important historical significance. The 100 lots selected for this sale span his collecting interests and represent wonderful examples. The quality of the selected lots is outstanding, and this sale represents a unique opportunity for collectors to add important pieces to their collections while supporting one of the world’s most dynamic teaching museums.
