At 6:30 PM on Friday, April 23, 2010, the night before our Spring Live Cane Auction, we are pleased to present a special event at the Peabody Marriott Hotel on Peabody, MA. We will be hosting our 11th pre-auction lecture. It will feature Anita Blackaby, Executive Director of the House of Seven Gables in Salem Mass. She will be presenting a talk entitled:
The House of Seven Gables- 100 Years of Preservation and Community Service
Ms. Blackaby graduated from Wayne State University with a BS in Education. She is presently seeking her MA from Duquesne University in Leadership and Liberal Studies. She was Director of the State Museum of Pennsylvania and was a Division Chief of the Pennsylvania's Historic Sites & Museums managing the development and restoration of numerous historic buildings. She has publications that include a paper on Washington's Revolutionary War campaigns in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and various cultural reports for the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission, as well as several others.
The lecture will be followed by a cash bar with hors d'oeuvres, and a private preview of the canes to be offered for auction the following day.
As always, there will be no charge for the lecture, but we request that you advise us if you plan to attend so that the facilities can be prepared.
